Looking Back with Relief

The 2012 Kla Ha Ya Days Car Show is over and our work plan for next year is in its formative stages.  This blog will be a platform to document this past show and to chronicle the planning process for next year.  Our committee still consists of our four original members Steve Matuschak, our club President, Rick Patrick, Tracy Roberge and me, Steve Dana.

This unique ride was awarded "Best of Show" this year.  You will see more of it soon as well as the particulars about its owner.

Our show this year was a success because of the contributions from our "consultant" from the old Boeing Stratocruisers Car Club; Michael Burks.  Without his efforts in teaching us the ropes, who knows how the show would have turned out.

The day of the show started very early for our crew.  Mike Burks has been doing car shows long enough to know you have to be on site early.  By 4:00 am we were out with our signs.  by 5:00 am cars were arriving at the Snohomish Station Fred Meyer parking lot.  Fred Meyer graciously hosted the car show and we look forward to working with them and all the other businesses in the shopping center.

Historically, the third weekend in July is the driest and warmest weekend of the year but this year that was not the case.  We awoke to a cold overcast and a threat of rain.  Not good when you are organizing a car show.  My team was on the job in their foul weather gear just in case.

Pictured above are Kiwanis members Tracy Roberge, Kate Maloney, Dawn Kulaga and Joan Rogalinski seated.

Over the next few weeks we will post more information about this past car show then over the coming months we will expose the workings of our club as we plan next years show.
